If you love great coffee, you’ve come to the right place!
My earliest memory of coffee is also one of my favorite memories of my Anderson grandparents. Grandpa was a farmer and he liked to have a mid-morning coffee break. At five years old, I would sit by Grandpa and he would allow me a special treat; I could dip a sugar cube in his coffee. Grandma felt it was her duty to discourage me from eating sugar cubes and showed a slight disapproval on her face. But perhaps sensing that this was indeed a special moment, she didn’t object.
What a wonderful, warm memory this is for me! The aroma of fresh, steaming coffee, slowly savoring my coffee-laden sugar cube, (Grandpa let me double-dip!) and enjoying the presence of my loving grandparents. It’s amazing how the simple, daily rituals can be the most profound.
Fast-forward over half a century and we find that the dream to begin a coffee company started with my daughter, Mary, as she worked as a barista in Ely, MN. Her love of crafting great coffee soon caught on with us, her parents, Mike and Liz Beaumia. In the autumn of 2019, Beau Coffee Company was born.
On the very same farm that my grandparents came to nearly 100 years ago, the hayloft of the old horse barn has been transformed into Legacy Loft and now houses our coffee roastery. Our aim is to bring you the finest small batch, freshly roasted, handcrafted coffees from around the world.
I’d like to encourage you as you gather to take the time to appreciate the people around you. A moment that may seem mundane on the surface may turn out to be very special after all.
