Organic Colombia – Dark Roast

In the world of coffee, Colombia is a very special place. This South American land has wide-ranging climates and great biodiversity. From the Andes Mountains to the Amazon Rainforest; and from the grasslands, savanna and desert to it’s Pacific, Atlantic and Caribbean coastlines, natural resources abound. The large array of microclimates, wind patterns, and closeness to the equator among other elements make possible the wonderful variations and varieties of coffee grown here. Supporting the nation’s coffee growers is the Federation of Coffee Producers, an NGO founded in 1927 that provides many services including marketing, price support, research, development, and an extension service. But the hundreds of thousands of mostly smallholder producer/farmers are the strength, backbone and inspiration of the industry, making Colombian coffee famous throughout the world.
